Ayumi Kato was born in Toyama prefecture, Japan, in 1980. In 1986, she started learning calligraphy in Toyama. In 2002, she became a professional calligrapher. Her artworks appeared in signs for Japanese restaurants, T-shirt designs and so on. She moved up to Tokyo in 2006 and expanded her fields to the cyber world, which means that her artworks appeared as the main titles of HPs provided by Kameda brothers, who are both famous Japanese professional boxers. In 2007, appears in free-subscribe magazine called “equilibre,” and she has been providing calligraphies and poems. In autumn 2007, she performed calligraphy in Central Park, N.Y. In February 2008, her first exhibition including calligraphies that were made in collaboration with Dr. Falcon-Paradi has been held at two venues in Tokyo.
